A Celebration for Nell
Nov. 10th, 2022 11:12 amNell had tried something a little different for dinner tonight. She'd made a large, and hopefully tasty, vegetable stir fry and had stir-fried some beef in a different pan so those wanting meat could have some. She also had homemade sourdough bread, salad, and a vegetable broth based soup to start the meal.
The apartment was spic and span, the cats were happily curled up on their cat trees, for however long that would last, and she thought she was prepared as she could be for her first ever birthday celebration. Now to wait somewhat anxiously for her guests.
[For those who know who they are.]

Sep. 24th, 2022 02:52 pmNell was still avoiding the Parent's Weekend picnic. After five years living entirely alone, the craziness of the picnic would definitely be more than she was ready for. Today she was working again in the store, singing quietly to herself as she planted seeds and repotted some of the plants she'd left with Marc and Steven so that she could add Soulwood's soil to them.
The store's not officially open, but the door is and Nell would be happy to stop and tell anyone about what she was working on - though she might have to wash up before she shakes hands.

When Nell had left the museum yesterday she'd gone back to the apartment and cleaned (around Steven's piles of things) until you could have eaten off any surface in the place (except those). Then she'd baked vegan and non vegan muffins, made 2 sets of vegan and non vegan casseroles (and frozen one set), and made a batch of vegan brownies.
She'd labeled everything neatly, left warming instructions and retreated to her room (without having been able to eat anything herself) where she'd cried herself to sleep, not even hearing Marc's knock on the door when they'd come home.
Today she'd been up and gone before the sun, cancelling her rental agreement, and giving the rickshaw driver the agreed upon barter even though she wouldn't be needing his services. Then she'd spent a long time in her favorite spot in the woods, away from everything, eyes closed, just communing with the land.
Losing herself in the land let her forget everything else for a while, even if her worries were still there when she finally pulled herself free and headed back to the apartment.
After another quick clean she'd pulled a chair out to the balcony and attempted to read a book out with her plants. Mostly she just stared out into space.
[OOC: Her activities and that she and Marc talked about her going home are fair game, the rest is NFB, please.]
